To play, you need to purchase a Chase Pass, which is valid for 4 hours. Here's how it works:
- One player (the admin) purchases the Chase Pass and creates the game
- Other players join the game for free using the Game ID
- The 4-hour timer starts only when the admin starts the game, not when players are in the lobby
- Within these 4 hours, you can play as many games as you want - guaranteed at least 2 games, usually 3!
Pricing: The Chase Pass cost depends on your group size:
- 4-7 players
- 8-11 players
- 12-16 players
Each tier tells you how many devices can be logged into the app simultaneously.

Gameplay
Each game lasts until the Escapers get caught, or a maximum of 2 hours. If the Escapers survive the full 2 hours without being caught, they win!
Yes! You can view the map while in the lobby before the timer starts. This gives you time to study the play area, identify clue point locations, and plan your tactics before the chase begins.
The game is not designed to be played with running - it's about strategy and smart use of public transport. However, if everyone in your game agrees, you can adjust the rules to your liking and incorporate running if you want a more intense physical challenge!
No, during an active game you cannot pause. The timer keeps running until the game ends. However, you can take a break between games – just wait until you're ready before starting the next round!
Catching works on a trust basis:
- Chasers must be very close to the Escapers (within a few meters)
- When caught, Escapers should accept they've been caught and confirm it in the app
- Escapers should not run away once a Chaser is right next to them
- Good sportsmanship is key - remember, everyone's here to have fun!
Important: The duration of special actions (Freeze, Live Location, etc.) and their respective cooldowns vary by city.
Before starting your game, check your local city rules in the app to see the exact times for:
- Freeze duration and cooldown
- Live Location tracking duration and cooldown
- Scenic View cooldown
- Transport Clue cooldown
- Time where escapers are only allowed to walk
Absolutely not! Each game is completely unique, as there are endless opportunities for what you can do and how the game unfolds. Especially if you switch teams or try different strategies, no two games are the same!
Rules & Safety
No. You must stay within the marked area shown on the map.
The map area is designed to include all major public transport routes and clue points, and is optimized to provide a balanced gameplay experience.
Yes! All players must have valid public transport tickets for the duration of the game. The Chase Pass does not include public transport - you must purchase those separately according to your city's transit system.
The game is designed to be played safely:
- Stay aware of your surroundings at all times
- Follow all traffic laws and public safety rules
- Don't trespass on private property
- Be respectful to other people in public spaces
- Use public transport responsibly
Remember: It's just a game. Your safety and the safety of others always comes first!
Technical
If you're on a team with multiple players, you can continue playing as long as one team member has a working device.
Pro tip: Bring a power bank and keep your phone charged!
The app is designed to handle brief connection drops:
- Your location data is cached and uploaded when connection returns
- The game timer continues running even if you're offline
- Make sure you have a stable mobile data connection before starting
If you experience persistent issues, contact our support team through the app.
Battery: GPS tracking is battery-intensive. Expect to use 20-40% battery during a 2-hour game, depending on your device. We strongly recommend bringing a power bank.
Data: The app uses very little data per game for location tracking, map updates, and real-time synchronization.
Other Questions
Chase Passes can be refunded if you cancel in the first two weeks after your purchase. Once you activate your pass, refunds are no longer available. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Absolutely! With one Chase Pass (4 hours), you can play multiple games back-to-back. Most groups get 2-3 complete games per pass. Just reset in the app and start a new round!
The Chase is an outdoor game, but since you're primarily using public transport, bad weather is manageable! You can play in all weather conditions.
