How it works

Escapers vs. Chasers. One team is on the run in Stockholm. The others are trying to find and tag them. Escapers win by staying hidden for 2 hours. Chasers win by spotting and physically tagging them

The Chase - How to play

Getting Started
  • Everyone meets at Sergels torg (T-Centralen) to begin.

  • Players split into one Escaper team and three Chaser teams, each with 1–4 players.

  • Teams must stay together at all times.

  • Chaser teams work together to find the Escapers.

  • Your're only allowed to take public transport and walk by foot

The game is about strategy, smart use of transportation, and teamwork—not running fast!

Winning
  • Chasers win if they catch the Escapers (within talking distance).

  • Escapers win if they remain uncaught for the full game.

  • The game lasts 2 hours (Unless the Escapers get caught earlier...)

Whats needed?
  • App downloaded on device (at least once per team)

  • Messanger Group for escapers to communicate (e.g. WhatsApp,...)

  • Public transport ticket (SL)

Game phases

The game naturally progresses in three phases:

  1. Head Start – Escapers can start moving immediately. Chasers get a short head start before pursuing.

  2. Chase – Both sides use strategy and Clue Points to gain advantages.

  3. Closing In – In the final stage, Escapers move on foot only. Plan carefully!

Clue Points

Clue Points are strategic locations in the city. Activating them gives teams powerful advantages.

  • Activation: Teams must physically visit the Clue Point and press Activate in the app.

  • Usage: Each individual Clue Point can only be used once per game.

  • Who is affected:

    • If a Chaser team activates a Clue Point, it affects the Escapers.

    • If the Escaper team activates a Clue Point, it affects all Chaser teams.

Types of Clue Points
  • Freeze – The target team must stop moving for a short time. If frozen in transport, they must exit and confirm the freeze.

  • Live Location – See where the target team is for a short while.

  • Transport Clue – The target team reveals part of their transport route. If in a vehicle, reveal your current mode, start point, and last stop.

  • Surveillance – Target team sends a 360° photo or video of their location. (Chasers only)

Using Clue Points wisely is key—once a Clue Point is activated, it can’t be used again.

Strategy Tips

Chasers

  • Split up to cover more ground.

  • Use Clue Points at critical moments to corner the Escapers.

  • Think like an Escaper—predict where they’ll go next.

Escapers

  • Activate Clue Points to gain insight on Chasers.

  • Plan your final on-foot route carefully.

  • Stay unpredictable—avoid patterns that make you easy to catch.

Rules & Fair Play
  • Don’t enter museums, shops, or paid-access locations.

  • Obey traffic rules and prioritize safety.

  • Play fairly and respect other teams.
